Sometimes kicked off by the guilty partner that dropped the '[just friends]' line, a flirtationship can be easily spotted when you hear "get a room\!" and "just go out already\!" jeered in quick succession at two corresponding peoples. Perfect for men and women of all ages afraid of commitment.

After weeks of constant jeerings of "get a room" and "just go out already", followed by a steamy night in the backseat of a car, Sally realized that her flirtationship with Billy had evolved into a full on 'friends with benefits'.

A relationship with someone that's open. You're not really with them, but you [flirt] a lot and kinda like eachother. To have a flirtationship, you dont have to be single and it can range from anywhere to harmless to "I wanna get in your pants"...and could even lead to a [relationship].

Example 1: I talk to Corey every night. We flirt ALL the time and its obvious we like eachother but he lives in Pittsburgh, I live in Buffalo, so we only have a flirtationship. when you flirt with a friend but eventaully it ends when their girlfriend/boyfriend tells you to back off or you eventaully realize that you and that person can be no more than friends and your just flirting when your together and you end up flirting with someone else later on (which can happen to be your friend too) and that cycle continues ...but there are some exceptions like maybe you start liking them but it turns out to be a mere flirtationship.. *heart broken*

(when you start liking them and you think they like you) they flirt with you in class but you see them flirting with other people outside of class also they ask you to go somewhere with them alone but its just leading you on. (just friends)when you flirt constantly and you guys get along well and the other person (usually the guy) is sweet and care about what you are doing or how you are acting and people tell you "you guys should just date to get it over with and done".

When two very close friends love each other very much but dont want to ever lose their feelings for their opposite they create a Flirtationship. Usually in a Flirtationship the friends will not claim that they have a relationship but usually do things that you would normally do in a mutualistic relationship. Ie; Make out, hold hands and or sex.
